About LREAC
What does LAREAC stand for ?
The Louisiana Real Estate Appraisers Coalition
What is the Purpose of LREAC?
The purpose is to monitor and affect the regulation of the appraisal profession through legislation, education and communication.
LAREAC is committed to protecting the public trust by ensuring that real estate appraisals remain independent, objective, and rooted in professional standards. Through advocacy, education, and communication, we work to safeguard the integrity of the appraisal process for the benefit of consumers, homeowners, and communities across Louisiana.
The Coalition was formed out of concern for growing threats to the reliability and independence of property valuations, an essential safeguard in real estate transactions. When appraisers are pressured or replaced by automated or unqualified alternatives, the public is at risk of receiving inaccurate valuations that can lead to financial harm.
LAREAC believes every consumer deserves a fair and trustworthy valuation of their property. We are dedicated to ensuring that policies and practices support responsible, well-trained appraisers who serve the public interest and help maintain confidence in the real estate market.
What We Do?
The Louisiana Real Estate Appraisers Coalition (LAREAC) is committed to promoting public trust in the real estate valuation process by supporting a strong, ethical, and independent appraisal profession in Louisiana.
We Advocate
LAREAC provides a unified platform for appraisers to engage in constructive dialogue with policymakers. We advocate for sound legislation and regulations that promote transparency, professionalism, and consumer protection in real estate valuation.
We Connect
We foster collaboration and professional development among appraisers who are committed to ethical practice and public service. Our role is to support a community of professionals who value high standards, not to direct business decisions or market behavior.
We Inform
We monitor state and federal legislative and administrative actions that may impact the appraisal profession or consumer confidence in the valuation process. LAREAC provides members with accurate, timely, and relevant information to help them remain informed and engaged.
We Support Education
LAREAC promotes access to high-quality continuing education by encouraging the development of local programs and supporting organizations that provide professional instruction. Our focus is on educational excellence, not on endorsing or limiting any particular provider.
